STILL IN THE GRIPS OF WINTER...

Last week saw heavy snow falls affecting most of Europe. Some areas were worst hit than others. as can be compared by the pictures below.

The top two pictures are scenes from my home here in Wales. George, our cat, sits at the conservatory door and just can’t make up his mind if he wants to risk going out in this strange white stuff that is covering his garden. You’ll note that my other three cats sit happily in their basket!!! Very well behaved and are no trouble at all. Mum pussy cat, keeps her two little ones in check closeby. The second scene is taken from my garden looking down to the little river that runs alongside us.

Last weekend saw Switzerland enduring much heavier falls of snow. The second set of pictures show the scene of the road outside my son’s apartment. What a glorious winter wonderland

Just a note that I think should be added about the pictures I took of our road in Zurich Switzerland is that all this snow you can see fell in one day! Last Sunday was a snow storm from hell. The sheer weight of the snow in the trees has brought many of them down. Only now has the Swiss road authority managed to make some way towards clearing it all up. Since Sunday we have had more snow every day.

Marion - we have had no snow at all, no rain either, in fact nothing but blasted sunshine....lol. Guess I'd be a bit concerned if it did suddenly 'do a Zurich' and dump all of that snow here in March. I think it snowed in parts of Tasmania last week.

Marion I forgot to say there is a lovely Lady that I care for in a retirement home here, and she is from Wales and I was telling her all about your blog.
now she said the name of her Village she lived in was called Clytach. and is always telling me about a railway station called Tonypanty. Hope my spelling is correct. Shes 94 now and I love hearing her stories that she tells.

Oh my goodness Christopher! The snow in Zurich looks even worse than in Munich by what I can see from your photos! Are winter tyres enough or do you even need snow chains to drive? And there was me thinking we have had very much snow here in Bremen this winter ha ha ha

My cat also doesn't like the snow, she makes two or three steps outside and then she turns around to run back into the house as fast as she can lol Nice pictures Marion!

Cats certainly don’t like snow do they! In fact it can be quite dangerous for them, I remember years ago having a Persian cat that got out on a snowy day. It really scared me, the state she got into. The snow clung to her fur like big snow balls and she could hardly walk. I’ve always been very mindful of that ever since.
Thank you for your comments everyone and thanks to Christopher for forwarding the his pictures of Zurich. Marion

Such beautiful pictures! I don't think we've had as much snow at one time all winter as the pics taken in Switzerland. This has been quite a mild winter for NY...but it's still much too cold for me!
An early storm before Christmas broke tree limbs and left us without power for days, but we haven't had very many big storms since then. There are always some, but nothing too serious this winter.
