CATCHING UP.......

I know I’m way behind with my postings, but since returning back from America life has been extremely hectic...... besides that..... we’ve also fitted in another holiday, this time to see our son Christopher who lives in Switzerland..... I'll be writing about that later.

If you have been following my dear friend Betty’s postings on her Country Charm Blog about our time spent together in Georgia, you will see that she is days ahead of me in recalling our adventure...... I’m going to make a great effort to catch up so, when better to make a start...... than a rainy day like today that keeps me away from the garden........

My last posting saw us setting off from the Blue Willow Reastaurant and embarking on the long journey south.

Here is our first glimpse of Betty & Edward's lovely home.......

What a great welcome to see our English flag flying.... We spent a wonderful evening meeting up with all the family.....

The next morning we were up bright and early..... I was keen to see Betty's garden, so, taking a mug of coffee in hand, we sat in the freshness of the morning air to take in our lovely surroundings. It wasn't long before Murphy, a very fussy and very beautiful cat came to greet us.

The garden was so interesting....... filled with many flowers, an abundance of bird houses and other lovely garden artefacts. Edward's office has the prettiest porch with a comfy bench swing.......

I may have gotten my pictures a little mixed here, for there are two cats that look very much the same, I'm not sure if this is Murphy again or Ling Ling?

........or maybe this is Ling Ling?

........or maybe this is? Help Betty!

Another one of their cats..... How remiss of me for I can't remember his name.

This is dear Sister, I do remember that......

Unfortunately this is not a very clear picture, but I include is as a point of interest...... A collection of Bird House gourds where the Martins nest.

More garden pretties.......

Even a rustic garden gate has its own basket of flowers........

The shady front porch......

More bird houses.......

There is no shortage of comfy and pretty resting places in this garden.....

I'd love a greenhouse like this..... plenty of space for everything...... and I was so pleased to see plants growing from seeds that I'd collected from my garden and sent to Betty.....
Another interesting corner..... and if you click on the picture to enlarge it you'll see the terracotta flower pot man........

My next posting continues with a delicious lunch at Jackie's home and a visit to the Day Lily Garden......

It's been such fun hearing all about your wonderful vacation with Betty and Edward and seeing all the lovely photos.
I'm assuming (hoping and praying) that Edward's health is improving, and will go and check to see what Betty has to say.
What a beautiful place B & E have, and such a spacious yard with lovely gardens.
I see the kitties are welcoming you too, as well as the British flag. What a thoughtful touch that was :)
The Blue Willow restaurant sounded wonderful. B & E were certainly the host and hostess with the mostess :)

A greenhouse would be such a luxury, wouldn't it?

Edward is not certain how he feels about those cats, though.

What lovely pictures of Betty's home and garden! She truly does have a beautiful place that looks so welcoming!! And how nice that she has a greenhouse. I would love to have one too. I love to grow my own plants from seeds. I have a cold frame, but it needs much attending to. And my gardening days are not what they used to be though I love and miss it very much. Can't wait to see what happens next here!!

Thanks for posting more. Such lovely cats and I don't think Betty has made such a fuss of them on her blog.
