GARDEN VISIT - Part one.

On Sunday afternoon John and I visited a local garden that belongs to the National Gardens Scheme, it is open to the public just one afternoon each year and it really is a delight.

Bronclydwr Garden is about 3 miles from where we live and it is tucked in at the foot of the lower slopes of the mountains as they roll down to meet the sea. The garden is about 1 acre in size and is described as being.... A unique plantsman’s garden of a peaceful historic farmhouse overlooking Cardigan Bay’.

Its unique position has created a little micro climate all of its own and many unusual and tender plants grow including, I quote from the booklet... protea, puya, amicia, echiums, watsonias, arums, beschorneria yuccoides, euryops, restios etc. etc. There are also many un usual trees, shrubs, bamboos, a bog garden and a wild wooded area.

We really did have a wonderful time and I’d like to share a few of the photographs we took.

I've posted this in two parts because blogger often doesn't like me putting too many pictures in the same posting and overlaps them.

Marion, this must be a beautiful place. I have loved flowers all of my life and have not heard of many of these plants that you listed. I am looking forward to seeing these flowers. Glad you could share them for us.

Oh wow, this are photos for my royal hart! Araucaria Araucana, Gunnera manicata, oh, only one day in the yellow-book? Have you a special contact to him, when I come??

Thanks for taking on this beautiful tour Marion. I can see a lot of love and care goes into these beautiful gardens.
Do you know the name of the tree with red blooms in the picture with John? I love the way you included a photo of each of you. It's so nice to see you both.
I could ask so many questions about these plants but must keep this short!
