TAKE A PEEK INSIDE MY SUMMER HOUSE....

I love my summer house, it is my retreat both winter and summer. Summer is best, when I can throw open the French doors and whilst sitting in both comfort and shade, I can enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of my garden.

My Dearly Beloved made this little house for me, like many things in our home and garden we have used recycled/reclaimed materials. My summer house started out in life as just ordinary garden fencing, but with my D/Beloved skills and know-how, he created this idyllic spot in our garden for me to enjoy, and enjoy I really do.

I had fun painting and stencilling the walls, making the floaty net curtains and furnishing it with comfortable chairs, a table and shelves for my books and magazines. We take lunch & supper here, sit and listen to music, read, have a snooze and I have been known to partake of the odd glass of wine (or two).

My latest addition to it has been the little banner I made, I cut up an embroidered table cloth that I’d purchased from a charity show. I did it with respect and apology for the person who must have spent many hours stitching the pretty patterns of flowers and baskets onto the material. Cutting the t/cloth into pieces seemed at the time a dreadful thing to do, but at least it ‘s not simply lying folded in some drawer, I am enjoying it every day.

What a beautiful place....yes, the banner IS a wonderful way to use those linens that have a spot on them or are lying dormant in a drawer. Very nice idea!

I love your wee summer house- my husband and l put up a good sized shed last year in the hopes of a summer house kind of thing but it has ended up being used as a storage container for the kids! - Typical. I love how homely you have made it- can imagine you sitting there sipping lemonade or having a cup of tea.
Do you mind if l add your blog to my links list? I enjoy the read and especially like it that you’re from Wales.
