HOW TIMES FLIES....

Goodness! I really have got some catching up to do, I’ve just checked and find that my last post was on 4th October and I’m way out of touch with reading all your lovely blogs too.

We have been really busy with so many things this month which has resulted in the house being in quite a disruptive state. After a lot of pondering and feeling apprehensive, John and I finally made the decision to take up the carpets in the dining and sitting room and lay wooden floors and I’m just so delighted as we love the effect. This now makes the whole of the ground floor of our home completely carpet free as terracotta tiles feature in other areas. I’ve quickly discovered how much easier this makes cleaning and I’m all for that! My next decision to ponder is, should we take up the stair carpet and paint the stairs to create a more shabby chic effect? I’ll let you know on that one.

The job of the two of us laying the floors was one thing, but the upheaval of moving furniture and sorting out so much clutter was a big enough task on its own. However, its all been worthwhile and our busy week culminated in a wonderful weekend when my brother and a friend of his from church came to stay.

The weather was perfect and our guest, who we hadn’t met before, was delightful company. Interesting conversation and lovely walks were enjoyed by all. I’ll post pictures of the new floors shortly.

Hey another post FINALLY and another good picture of you my friend! I love pictures!! I can always be guaranteed to find them here. You live in such a great place...So pretty. I wish I had the money to travel and see you beauty there. I am afraid that is not a possibility though...great thought though. Have a great day....Oh I almost forgot. We just put down wood floors too and they are so much easier to care for. Ours are not REAL wood but look about the same. I like them so much better than carpet. Sandy

Nice to see you post again. It sounds as though your days are full, I admire your industry in doing your own flooring !! Well done you !! Your coastal pictures remind me of the area near Criccieth where my husband and I spent some time a few years ago. Wales has long been a favourite of mine.

I was beginning to wonder about you dear Marion....sounds as though you've been quite the busy bees in your home of late. We have no carpeting in our home and I much prefer it. I love your pictures and getting a chance to see what you see. Someday, someday my feet will walk on Wales soil, in the meantime I get to experience it here.
XOXO

So pleased you've taken a breather and posted about your activities. What a a great achievement to take up the carpets and lay the new flooring. I'm glad you are so happy with the result.

I think you and your brother are very alike (his receding hairline and beard notwithstanding). It's lovely that you can often spend time together, sharing the things you enjoy so much.

I loved the photos. You look very serene sitting there by the water.

I hope you are feeling better again, dear Marion.

You must be feeling better Marion, to be laying flooring and all the other work involved! Glad to know you're keeping busy and that you and John are happy with the results of such a big decision. Sounds lovely and I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures of your new floors.
I simply love that photo of you sitting on the rock. What a lovely scenic place you live in. Glad you had such a nice weekend with your brother and his friend.

What a beautiful area you live in. We put in wood and terrocota floors in much of our new house as well. Excellent choice!

I am so happy I "bumped" into your blog. Not sure how it happened but it was delightful!

Blessings galore on your new home!

Glad you're feeling well enough to lay floors. My husband and I did that in the kitchen this summer and it was no small task!
The picture of you by the water is just lovely.
