CATCHING UP....I see that I’ve neglected my blog for a few days. My problem is that I sometimes get distracted and spend too much time being a silent reader of many other blogs. Do you do that too?
The weather has been dreadful, rain, rain and more rain together with gale force winds. There was even a tornado that hit a village not so far away from here, now that’s an unusual occurrence for us in Wales, it caused severe damage from winds of up to 135 mph. Our climate is definitely changing.
John has not been well for about a week now with a bad cold, aching limbs, headache, symptoms that are all too common at this time of year. He usually reacts like this to his flu jab, nevertheless, I think its necessary that we take such precautions, as it could end up being a lot worse.
I’ve also been busy making a few Christmas decorations and little hand made Christmas gifts. Being creative with such things seems to add to the festive feel right now. I'll assemble a few and take a picture.
On a relatively dry day about a week ago I took these pictures on one of our walks, I guess the wind has taken most of the leaves off the trees by now, but then, the colours were so beautiful and I just loved the parts of the lane where the pine needles had fallen making a glorious golden carpet, disturbed only by vehicles that had driven that way. As we stood in the quietness of that morning, the pine needles fell gently and silently, just like snow flakes. I met up with my friend Rosie, you’ll see her on the last but one picture, she was out enjoying this perfect time riding her cycle.

Some lovely words and images! They just capture the quality of the place - and such hills, mmmmm, wonderful! And that lovely stream by the road....is it still warm though, like it is in Dorset?

Hope John feels better soon. Thankfully we had no real ill effects from the flu shot this year.

I hope that John gets better really quick. I hate being sick and I am sure he is not loving it at all either!!
Yes, I agree your time does get taken up visiting everyone but I miss people so much if I do not get out and see how they are doing.
Our cat, Lucy has left or is no longer in this world and we are so sad here at our home (read my blog). We miss her more than I can tell you. She is so sweet. I have been in tears most of this week! She is one of those "special kittys" and we want her back. I have tried everything so far to find her but nothing yet. She walked out Sunday night like she always does but has not returned.

I just read about a gale force winds in Brazil too over at Sonia's blog. We've had quite a storm and big winds tonight. We're supposed to get snow during the next several days.
