MY HOSPITALI -TEA........

After a heavy downpour of rain earlier in the morning the day got
progressively hotter.

A feeling of excitement filled the air and the garden was a buzz with folk...... tables were arranged, the men fetched and carried chairs and bowls of lovely flowers were set upon white lacy cotton tables clothes.

This was to be a very special day........ dear Amy, Erin & Elizabeth had planned a ‘A Southern Hospitali-Tea’ for me..... what a honour it was and to share in this wonderful afternoon, a number of their charming friends had been invited too.

Just look at this wonderful array of delicious dishes set on the table......
together with jugs of refreshing iced tea....... Oh what a treat this was!

Beth, a dear friend of Amy’s and a very skilful cook played an intrinsic part in the afternoon’s arrangements...... I was amazed to see the many wonderful dishes she had prepared.....
Thank you Beth.....

At 2 pm the invited guests arrived, it was a real pleasure to meet everyone. I found it quite amusing that so many wanted to hear my English accent, for I too was equally enjoying their wonderfully warm southern voices. We all talked a lot.....

Me and my dear friend Betty...... she really is the hostess with the most'est!

Here are some of the picture of that wonderful and memorable afternoon.......

Although it was a 'ladies and children's' afternoon, two very special men put in an appearance..... Let me introduce you to Chad, Amy's wonderful husband.

.....and here is John.....

My sincere thanks to everyone concerned...... all who planned this afternoon, Beth who did the catering and all the lovely friends who attended and made this a very memorable occasion for me.

We're ready for ANOTHER tea! So that means that you and Mr. John need to hop on a plane and come back SOON! :o)Our John wants to see Mr. John and 'Miss' Ma-wion'! :o) And you wouldn't believe how much the littles have grown!

We had such a great time, and we miss you both! Y'all are like family now and we'd love it if y'all were here FULL time!

Thanks for such kind words, but the tea party was a joy and a privilege.

Take care and consider yourselves both hugged...from all of us!
Love and prayers,
Amy

Hallo dear Marion, what a lovely post. The garden, all the people and the tables with all the goodies looks so wonderful. It must have been a great success. One of the pictures of a table reminded me of a very beautiful painting by Hanna Pauli called Breakfast in the garden. LOL Tyra. http://www.nationalmuseum.se/upload/B%20Utställningar%20mall%201/Mall%202/Hanna_pauli.jpg
